Challenges
Put your inventing skills to the test with a Little Inventors challenge!
We tasked you with thinking up new, fun, or helpful invention ideas and to save your old, unwanted things from going in the bin! You had awesome ideas for brand new ‘re-inventions’!
Growing Together asked children who benefit from Children Heard and Seen's help to think about growing emotionally and ways to help each other grow. For Children's Mental Health Week 2022, we encouraged children to consider how they have grown and how they can help others to grow.
The Little Inventors Protect our Oceans - Mini challenge project consisted of six ocean-themed challenges designed to be done as a fun activity at home or school or be delivered to students as a series of full lessons. You could choose one mini-challenge or do all six of them!
You brought Tyne & Wear Metro to life by inventing new and fun ways to use it! You could have thought of something to help make a Metro train driver’s job be even more exciting, an even a brand new way for a Metro train to travel, or a way to make your Metro journey even more fun!
It’s all hands on deck! This activity book is full of ideas to help you come up with new inventions to help our oceans. How could you clean up the ocean? Cool down coral reefs? Travel to the deep, dark depths of the sea? There are no limits!
You came up with inventions that created mischief and mayhem, inspired by the antics of the fun-loving Georgian inhabitants at Seaton Delaval Hall.
Participants chose from one of the two themes to help them think up an ingenious invention to protect our planet! The themes were: protect biodiversity and invent a more sustainable future. Every decision we make has an impact on the planet, from what we eat to how we travel. Our Climate Champions used their voices to raise their concerns and solutions and we got adults to listen!
What could be invented to help protect our oceans and water resources? We all know how essential our water resources are and so we asked for your ideas to help keep them healthy, to help the people whose livelihoods come from working in them, and celebrate all the wonderful creatures which live underwater. Well done for taking a deep dive with your imagination!
