MISD Energy: Feel the Power! Challenge
Hey future inventors! We need your help. A new MISD challenge is here!
During five amazing years partnering with MISD, we have witnessed its success snowball with each passing year. More schools, more makers, and more little inventors have joined us to participate in the challenges.
MISD is the Macomb Intermediate School District. In 2025, children across the county are set to experience a powerful surge of their imagination as we embark on the MISD Energy: Feel the Power! challenge.
We all love to move it, move it. But the way we produce and use energy is the biggest reason for pollution on Earth and the biggest cause of climate change.
Climate change impacts all living things on the planet; humans, animals, and plants. The more our planet warms the harder life will become for people all over the world.
Small changes to the way we use energy everyday can make a big difference and are necessary in improving the health of our planet.
The challenge for the bright sparks in Macomb County is to invent something that generates energy, saves energy, or uses energy better! We want them to help reduce the use of fossil fuels and prevent climate change.
What inventive ways to harness energy will the students think up? Perhaps collecting the energy from a live orchestra or from bouncing on a pogo stick?
They might invent a way to fly without using a plane or any fuel. Or imagine something that turns off all of the light switches when we’re not in the room!
The challenge will conclude with a selection of winning inventions being brought to life by a team of top notch makers local to Michigan.
Time to turn on that inventing switch and feel the power!
