Powering the Future Workshop at Hebburn Library
Hebburn Library boasts a fashionably industrialised demeanour, a range of cultural events, and a community feel. And it was the site of a Little Inventors hangout!
Hot on the heels of our Powering the Future challenge in primary schools across South Tyneside, we ran a series of workshops in local libraries this summer to get creative cogs turning and ignite some imaginations!
Funded by the new, extraordinary Dogger Bank Wind Farm being constructed off the North East coast, the workshops explored renewable energy, how it works, and why it is a crucial part of the solution to climate change.
We challenged kids in the workshops to use their imagination to create new ways to generate renewable energy and learn prototyping techniques to bring inventions to life.
The workshops were available to children of primary school age, accompanied by an adult.
