Workshops at the Urban Village Fete
We were part of the Urban Village Fete in Greenwich Peninsula!
The Urban Village Fete, curated by Hemingway Design, is an annual event with a host of exciting things on offer for the whole family.
From talks to yoga to crafting (and street food aplenty) the event is free and welcomes visitors from allover London and beyond. It's an alternative, contemporary twist on the traditional summer fete that attracts upwards of 30,000 attendees every year.
With the sun smiling down on us that Sunday in May, we delivered creative, STEM-based workshops throughout the day.
Our Innovation Workshops challenged children to invent a piece of bonkers playground equipment.
Led by our Head of Projects & Events Ellie, the young people who joined us used drawing and collage to get their ideas down on paper and then brought them to life by making a 3D prototype using paper modelling techniques.
With materials and crafting tools strewn across the tables and no shortage of little inventors eager to get involved, we quickly accumulated a gallery wall full of their spectacularly creative efforts.
We saw all kinds of tunnels, slides and climbing frames constructed that were on their way to becoming the playground of dreams!
Our participation in the Urban Village Fete allowed ourselves and Hemingway Design to support Greenwich Foodbank. We implore readers to give to their local foodbank wherever and whenever possible.
