Meet our Magnificent Makers
Little Inventors wants children to open their eyes to the world of invention and creativity. But beyond the invention drawings, there is a unique opportunity for children and makers, designers and artists to come together and collaborate to bring children’s imagination to life.
By taking children’s ideas seriously and presenting them in a professional manner through collaboration with skilled makers, we will help showcase children’s original ideas, perspectives and voices.
We also want to challenge the skills and experience of adult makers, and encourage them to push beyond their own limits by engaging with the highly imaginative and unhindered minds of young children.

My name is Katie and I am on the little inventors team for 2024! I'm in my 3rd year at Edinburgh Napier University studying Product Design. I am considering a career in teaching, so this placement is perfect as it gives me an insight into what it teaching/ leading a project involves. I can't wait to get started and see what the children invent and what the 1st years make!
I am a 3-year product design student at Edinburgh Napier University
Hello! I'm a puppet and prop maker based in Northumberland. My work is usually full of fun, bright colours and silliness! I love being able to tell stories, express personality and character through puppet making.
I enjoy working in a wide range of materials and thrive off the challenge of making something out of nothing.
It is important to me that my work makes people smile. I'm always on the look out for daft projects that are a bit wacky and full of humour!
Ford Aerospace Limited are award-winning, global specialists in the high precision machining and pressing of parts and sub assemblies for the aerospace, industrial, and other high-technology sectors.
Always curious about how things work, I enjoy tinkering and taking things apart. Not a fan of manuals, I prefer to figure things out. I'm a huge fan of repurposing and upcycling. Electronics and retro computing amaze me. My oldest computer, a Commodore PET 2001 has the funniest keyboard which I think was not designed for humans, but I love it to bits.
