Skills:I have skills in graphic and motion graphic design
I like to be creative and develop my skills as a motion graphic designer. I also like to read books and take pictures of friends, family and food!

Continuing on with the project, I finally created the final outcome. I created a short animation of the lightening goal post and a poster to go along with it. Beforehand I had created storyboards to see how I had wanted the final animation to look. I decided I wanted it to be a very short snappy animation that grabs attention rather than a long boring animation.
From my storyboard, I decided to change the idea a little and start the animation off with a football scoring a goal to start off the celebrations from the lightening goal post. I thought that this was more engaging and exciting than comparing an old goal post to the lightening post.
This is why I had decided to show the goal post in use after a goal had been scored. I wanted it to be exciting and stuck to the colours that Luca had chosen for the laser colours. The lightening goal post is designed to reflect the ambience and feeling of how it feels to score a goal. Its so those who are watching the game can feel the way the shooter felt whilst scoring a winning goal, as designed by Luca. I think that this was reflected in the animation. It could be better with some sound to hear cheering and celebratory noises.
I also created a poster to go along with the animation. This poster compares the an original goal post with the lightening goal post. Its so that everyone can see how Luca’s creation is a lot more exciting and would rather have that goal post than a normal regular one. I think showing the comparison was an effective way to sell the goal post. I also used the slogan 'no more ordinary' as I thought it would be a catchy phrase. Also so that children would feel special and the experience of using the lightening goal post would be a lot more exciting than and ordinary normal post.
I had been comfortable creating the final outcomes as I use after effects already, for animations, and was confident in creating the animation. I created the poster in illustrator which is something I’m also comfortable using.
Research
This week I've been researching about goal posts. I don't have the skills, however, to physically make a goal post, especially the one designed by Luca. As the lightening goal post will need to change colour due to its hypersensitivity to the ball and represent the scoring team, it would be very difficult for me to create this in reality.
My specialism is motion graphic design so my intention is to create an animation. However, as this project is aimed to challenge us, I will create an advertising campaign and sell the product through adverts and gifs rather than create a physical product.
It has been difficult to research as goal posts are very simple in design and there isn't much differentiations. I guess this is a good thing as it means Luca's idea will be completely unique. I will therefore create an animation of the goal post in a stadium displaying how it works.
Today we got to meet the little inventors! We visited Christ Church primary school and worked in our groups to come up with loads of inspiring ideas. I worked with Luca, who had brilliant ideas. He decided the idea he liked best was the Lightening Goal. This is a football goal post that changes colour to the teams colour that make a goal, or to highlight penalties and fouls during the game.
I think it will be interesting to see how this will develop into an idea. I also want to see how I can plan this project to make an animation for the final piece.
