The concept of Swish Fish is that it can transform into a shark when it detects plastic waste and a vulnerable sea creature. To convey this in the most appropriate format, I thought that it would be best to show this story and transformation through a series of posters giving viewers a snapshot of each stage.
The rest of the images below are screenshots of the 4 stages Swish Fish goes through in order to carry out its duty.
The first stage is when it is dormant.
The second stage is when it has detected plastic waste and vulnerable sea creature(s) in the same vicinity. (Swish Fish can still detect plastic without the presence of a sea creature)
The third stage is when Swish Fish turns into a mechanical sphere, changing into the form of a shark ready for action.
The fourth and final stage is Swish Fish as a shark shooing away sea creatures in danger and consuming plastic polluting the sea.
Actually making a new and fresh invention is a first for me, but it is definitely going to be an experience that I'll take away with me and apply what I've learnt during this project and process. I am happy with what I've made from Eva's invention, but if i was to add an element to the outcome it would be more labels describing the the materials and include some dummy dimensions that could be used to physically make Swish Fish. What this outcome in particular was missing was the suggestion that the invention could really be made. Looking back now I can easily do that through design.
This isn't the end of the Swish Fish series of posters, I'll definitely add these improvements now that I have identified them. Hopefully, someone out there in the world can make Swish Fish 3D and escape 2D captivity.
